We Include, Adore & Nurture Our Precious GCCF Pedigree Ragdoll Kittens & Cats.
OsoChic's GCCF Pedigree Ragdoll cats live as part of the family, NOT in outdoor pens. We recognise the importance of the first 13 weeks of a kitten's life, that's why we include, adore & nurture our kittens within our home environment. We strongly believe our method of raising kittens is reflected in their temperament. As a small family unit with a close extended family & loyal friends we often enjoy the company of visitors, especially when we have little furry things bobbing about the house! This enables our kittens to have positive social experiences with all age groups, which is vital for their development. We consciously chose quality over quantity when we became enchanted by Ragdolls as a breed; recognising the importance of each of them receiving the attention they deserve & the time this takes. Our Ragdoll cats are ALL health screened & DNA tested for diagnosable prone diseases; to give them the best possible chance of a happy, healthy life, & that of their gorgeous offspring.
We have managed successfully to balance genetic screening, hygiene & a typical loving home environment in order for our feline family to have the best possible chance of a long, healthy, happy life. Occasionally we have Pedigree Ragdoll Kittens for sale to approved loving homes. We offer adorable, quality, registered GCCF Ragdoll kittens. In our bid to produce our next show hopeful, we strive to thoughtfully create not only beautiful, but healthy, true to type, well socialised kittens, with stunning blue eyes, soft plush coats & most loving dispositions.
Our prefix 'OsoChic' is registered with the GCCF & our Ragdoll cats are on the 'Active Register'. We are one of the few breeders based in the South West of England on the GCCF Responsible Breeder Scheme, which states,'to only mate a queen who is healthy and in good condition, and only as often as is appropriate for her wellbeing.' Some queens need to be mated up more than once a year, others less than once a year. You do what is in the best interest of the cat, not the owner.
In accordance with the GCCF code of practice 'if' we choose to breed this is done so in accordance with their regulations. Our queen is paired with our boy & placed in one room with supervision for a few days. When pregnant she will have free rein of the house again. When the time is near she will start to nest so she is in a totally stress free, hygienic, comfortable & a familiar setting. Kittens are raised in this quiet environment until 4 weeks of age, at which point they can explore the play room. At eight weeks old they are mature enough to explore the rest of our home. They remain with us until approximately 13 weeks of age.
The proof of a good breeder is in the happy owners, & success in the show halls. One of the reasons we show our Ragdolls is to ensure our progeny has the 'true to type' attributes of the breed. It's not possibly to know this if you don't allow your cats to be judged & compared to others. *When you do show your cats, you have it confirmed you're on the right track in producing good progeny.
The Ragdoll breed needs protecting from illthought, indiscriminate breeding, so the Ragdoll type, health & temperament is preserved.
To maintain optimum health we do not share our boy for stud services. The holistic welfare of our cats & kittens is always our top priority. It is important to keep in mind many catteries do carry some diseases that are common to cats & can affect any breed, including any you may have at home already! We take sensible precautions advised by our vet to prevent diseases entering our home.
Please do not visit us if you have visited a cattery that day or, if wearing the same clothes as that day.
